It’s Hockey Night in Winnipeg! The Winnipeg Jets, a team that has won two straight games on home ice, play again tonight against the Florida Panthers at MTS Centre, 7 p.m. on TSN Jets TV. It’s the third game of a six-game homestand. It’s unlikely Jets defenseman Toby Enstrom will play tonight. Either Paul Postma or Derek Meech will take his place tonight.

The Jets find themselves in ninth place in the East today, two points behind the eighth-place New York Rangers. The Rangers beat Toronto 3-2 in a shootout last night and improved to 20-16-4 on the season. The Rangers, seventh-place Islanders and sixth-place Ottawa Senators lead the Jets by two points in the race for the final playoff spot, but the Rangers and Islanders have a game in hand while Ottawa has two.

In the Southeast Division, the Jets trail the first-place Washington Capitals by two points. Washington is 21-17-2. The Jets have played one more game.

Roberto Luongo mae 41 saves to get the win. Former Moose Alexandre Burrows had a goal for the Canucks and was the game’s third star.

Phoenix 3 Edmonton 1

Mike Smith made 30 saves to get the win.

Matt Duchene led the Avs with a goal and an assist. Former Jet Teemu Selanne scored his 11th goal of the season for the Ducks.

There are eight other games in the NHL tonight: In the big games for the Jets, Carolina is at Washington; NY Islanders are at Boston; and Ottawa is at Philadelphia. In the other games Montreal is at Buffalo, Pittsburgh is at Tampa Bay, San Jose is at Detroit, St. Louis is at Minnesota and Colorado is at Los Angeles.

Jesse Sinatynski had a hat-trick as the Dauphin Kings beat the Steinbach Pistons 5-2 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Turnbull Cup championship series. Game 4 goes Saturday night at Steinbach’s T.G. Smith Centre at 7:30. Game 5 will be played back in Dauphin next Monday night.

MANITOBA MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE

Game 2 in the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League’s championship series between the Charleswood Hawks and the Pembina Valley Twisters goes tomorrow night in Morris. Charleswood leads the series 1-0.

KEYSTONE CUP

The Peguis Juniors, a team that has won 35 consecutive games, will represent the Keystone Junior B Hockey League at the 30th annual Keystone Cup Western Junior B Hockey Championships, hosted by the St. Malo Junior B Warriors. The tournament goes April 17th to 21st at the Saint Malo Arena and will feature teams from BC , Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Check out keystonecup.ca. for ticket information.

ALLAN CUP

The 2013 Allan Cup championship will run from April 15-20 in Bentley, Alta. The Kenora Thistles will represent this region. Last year’s champion was Manitoba’s Southeast Prairie Thunder. The Allan Cup is emblematic of the championship of Senior A hockey in Canada. Games can be viewed live on the web at Fast Hockey.
